Aaron Judge re-signs with the New York Yankees while Trea Turner signs a big deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. The San Diego Padres offered each of them a deal and whiffed on both.

After MLB rumors suggested the San Francisco Giants may swoop in and sign Judge, it turned out San Diego put their name in the hat. According to Bob Nightengale, the Padres offered him a 10-year $400 million contract.

On Tuesday, the franchise tried signing Trea Turner to a massive $342 million deal that would have made him the highest-paid shortstop in the MLB, per FOX Sports.

Trea Turner is all in on the Phillies!

He rejected an offer from the Padres that would’ve made him the highest paid SS in baseball 😮

Okay, this video might have cursed the Padres though.

Aaron Judge would rather get booed by Yankees fans than play in front Padres fans

At least the Padres have something going for them.

It’s windy out. Or is that just the collective sigh of relief of padres fans waking up to see that Aaron judge will not be with the Giants.

Meanwhile, LA Dodger fans are just happy Trea Turner didn’t sign with San Diego.

Not signing with the Padres was his final W as a Dodger! Best of luck in Philly! 🥲💪

In the end, the Padres have made some aggressive offers this offseason. Although they’re getting torched online for whiffing Aaron Judge and Trea Turner, the front office is clearly in the mix to sign a big name. With plenty of superstar talent remaining in free agency, maybe San Diego can land at least one of them.
