The Nueces County Fire Department searched overnight for the suspected missing swimming who was later found safe at his hotel room Friday morning.

The suspected missing swimmer at Padre Island National Seashore has been found safe and alive in an unexpected place.
According to 3News, Dale Scott, Fire Chief at Nueces County ESD No. 2, confirmed the man was found around 7 a.m. Friday … when he showed back up to his hotel room.

Officials began their search about 2:30 a.m. when an emergency call came in from PINS near mile marker 222 regarding the possible missing swimming.
The local news station reported five people from New Mexico had been swimming in the surf when the group lost contact with one of their friends. The group called 911 and officials searched for hours by boat and air for the missing swimming
With the number of drownings we’ve reported on, we’re glad this was a happy ending.
