‘This photograph of a Japanese Maple was not far from my home in Oregon. The tree, enormous in visual character and vitality, was no more than two metres in height from ground to crown. The still air and diffuse, bright, ambient light allowed for ideal conditions to capture the ornate branch structure and delicate details.
