Jim Miller turned back the clock again at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas.
The 40-year-old veteran submitted Gabriel Benitez in the third round of their lightweight bout at the UFC Apex, extending his own record for the most wins in UFC history to 26.
Miller is now in sole possession of the second-most finishes (17) and submissions (12) in UFC history. Both records are held by former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira (20 and 16).
After the fight, Miller said he wants to return to action at UFC 300 in April. Miller and former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar are the only fighters who competed at both UFC 100 in 2009 and UFC 200 in 2016. Miller said he’s interested in either welcoming Paul Felder back to the sport or moving up to welterweight to take on Matt Brown.
Miller is now riding a two-fight winning streak and is 5-1 in his last six appearances.
