Mikal Bridges sent out a tweet after reportedly getting traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Brooklyn Nets.
On Wednesday evening, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Brooklyn Nets are sending 13-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns in a blockbuster deal.
The Suns have already been one of the premier teams in the league over the last two seasons and they have now added Durant (while keeping their three best players).
Wojnarowski: “The Suns are sending Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, a 2028 pick swap for Durant and TJ Warren, sources tell ESPN. Durant wanted move and new owner Mat Ishbia pushed to get deal done tonight.”
After finding out he’d been traded, Bridges sent out a tweet.
Bridges tweeted: “Omygod lol”
His post has over 54,000 likes and 1.7 million impressions in less than one hour.
The former Villanova star is in his fifth season in the NBA and is averaging 17.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals per contest in 56 games.
He is also shooting 46.3% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range.
The former tenth overall pick has been a big reason for the Suns’ success, but getting Durant is something that the Suns couldn’t pass up.
He is one of the greatest players of all time and is averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.5 blocks per contest in 39 games.
Right now, the Suns are 30-26 in 56 games, which has them tied for the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
They are 8-2 in their last ten games and in the middle of a three-game winning streak.
