Michigan missing four starters, DB Gemon Green in uniform at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Michigan’s football team will be down at least four starters for its game tonight against Rutgers, including two offensive linemen.
Starting offensive tackles Ryan Hayes and Trente Jones, wide receiver Roman Wilson and linebacker Jaylen Harrell did not make the trip for the prime-time game at SHI Stadium, set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Big Ten Network.
A Michigan team spokesman declined providing a designation for the absences.
In a bit of good news for the fifth-ranked Wolverines, cornerback Gemon Green is uniform and going through pregame warmups a week after allegedly suffering a concussion in the tunnel melee against Michigan State. Video captured from the incident showed Green taking a shot to the head with a helmet.

Defensive back Ja’Den McBurrows, the other Michigan player involved in the incident, did not travel with the team.
With Michigan down two starting offensive linemen, look for reserve players Karsen Barnhart and Jeffery Persi to get the start tonight. Barnhart had been filling in for Jones (ankle sprain), the team’s starting right tackle, in recent weeks.
Saturday’s absence marks the second this season for Wilson, the team’s most explosive receiver this season (17 catches, 250 yards).
Additionally, defensive back Makari Paige and quarterback Cade McNamara were among the list of players not to travel. Paige had become a big part of the five-man backfield as a rotational player, while McNamara has missed game action since hobbling off the field Week 3 against Connecticut with an undisclosed injury.
Michigan (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) will wear its all-white uniforms tonight, splashed with maize accessories.
