Michael Penix Jr and Caleb Williams turned touchdown passes into a game of HORSE

On the same day the football gods graced college fans with the puntfest that was Iowa-Northwestern, they were quick to balance things out with an elite matchup between No. 5 Washington and No. 20 USC.

The Trojans’ Caleb Williams won the award last year. The Huskies’ Michael Penix Jr. entered Saturday as the odds-on favorite (+275) to take home the award this year.

And while the game was about so much more than the two quarterbacks, it was impossible not to feel like this was simply a one-on-one showdown. The reigning Heisman-winner out to remind everyone why he has a trophy and the challenger out to claim the crown.

The two kept trading touchdowns so ridiculous no amount of replays could make them less thrilling.

So. Many. Touchdowns.

The over-under point total for the game was at 75.5 before kickoff. At halftime it was up to 104.5.

Oh, OK. Maybe Penix won’t have the silliest touchdown at the Coliseum this year.
