Michael Gove: ‘With clear evidence we had to act’

Michael Gove has been defending the government’s decision to shut all schools, one day after the Prime Minister insisted that schools were safe.

The change came after the four chief medical officers for the UK met and decided to move the Covid alert level from level 4 to level 5.
