Mesut Ozil has reportedly agreed a three-and-a-half year deal to join Fenerbahce and finally leave Arsenal.

Ozil has been frozen out by Mikel Arteta as he was left out of the Gunners’ Premier League and Europa League squads for the first half of the Premier League season and has been training away from the first team in recent weeks.

The north London club have been desperately trying to offload the Germany international and his £350,000-a-week wages.

Reports from DHA in Turkey claim a contract has been agreed with Fenerbahce.

Ozil, who has Turkish roots, has previously spoken of his admiration for Fenerbahce.

A number of reports in Turkish media have tipped the 32-year-old to join Fenerbahce in January.

Journalist Berkay Tokgoz claims that this deal is close to happening as Ozil is in the area and will wear the No.23 jersey for the Yellow Canaries.

Sport Witness cites claims in Turkey that Ozil met with Fenerbahce president Ali Koc in London.

The report also points to other ‘trusted sources from Turkish media’ are claiming the same.
