Benjamin Mendy’s ‘fixer’ allegedly bought £150 worth of alcohol at 5am before telling a petrol station attendant: “Every day is a party.”

Louis Saha Matturie is accused of raping a young woman during the late-night trip to purchase more booze for a party at the Manchester City player’s Cheshire mansion.

Blues defender Mr Mendy, 28, denies seven counts of rape against four women, one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault. The offences are alleged to have taken place at his home between October 2018 and August last year, and relate to six women.

Mr Matturie, 41, from Eccles, Salford, who prosecutors claim was Mr Mendy’s ‘fixer’, denies six counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault, allegations relating to seven women.

A jury at Chester Crown Court has previously heard details of a party held at Mr Mendy’s home near Prestbury in the early hours of August 23, which was attended by a number of young women and Mr Mendy’s City teammate Jack Grealish.

While at the party, prosecutors allege that Mr Mendy and Mr Matturie both raped the same young woman. Mr Mendy is also accused of raping another woman after leaving the party with her to purchase more drinks.

Jurors today heard evidence from Hassan Atta-Pervez, who served Mr Matturie at a Shell garage in Tytherington, Cheshire.

In a statement read out in court, he recalled Mr Matturie pulling up outside the petrol station in a Mercedes with tinted windows at about 5am. Mr Atta-Pervez said he could “hear a female voice coming from the forecourt” but could not see anyone and was unable to make out what was being said.

Mr Matturie then purchased £150 worth of alcohol, which the witness described as “quite unusual”. When Mr Atta-Pervez asked Mr Matturie whether he was having a party, he said the defendant replied: “Every day is a party.”

Jurors heard that after leaving the petrol station, Mr Matturie drove to a nearby Co-op, where he is accused of raping Woman Eleven before returning to Mr Mendy’s home at 5.38pm. Mr Matturie denies raping Woman Eleven. The jury has previously heard that during a police interview, he told detectives his accuser was a willing partner and enjoyed sex with him.

The trial continues.
