A new round of updates from Type-Moon Games brings another pair of Fate/Grand Order characters to the playable roster of Melty Blood Type Lumina. The latest round of Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC brings with it The Count of Monte Cristo (Edmond Dantes), and Ushiwakamaru. Both were first introduced to the Fate and Tsukihime multiverse by way of Fate/Grand Order. The DLC pack goes live on December 15, 2022, and will be free to all players, including the pair’s character stories and battle stages.

Before joining via Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC, Edmond Dantes initially joined Fate/Grand Order as the game’s first Avenger-class Servant. His character design comes from artist Rui Komatsuzaki, who designed the characters from the Danganronpa series. Dantes is voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki (Eugeo from Sword Art Online Alicization, Ritsuka Fujimaru from Fate/Grand Order – Babylon).

Check out Dantes’ battle preview below. In the preview he fights Roa. Though Roa doesn’t recognize Dantes, Dantes has encountered a different version of Roa before – and burned him alive.

The other Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC character to be added is Ushiwakamaru, another visitor from FGO. Ushiwakamaru is the youth name of Minamoto-no-Yoshitsune, one of the most famous warriors in Japanese history. A samurai general during the 12th-century Genpei war, Minamoto-no-Yoshitsune helped topped the Taira clan, paving the way for the Minamoto to establish the shogunate system that would rule Japan in some capacity for the next seven hundred years. Ushiwakamaru played a prominent role in the story and anime adaptation of Fate/Grand Order: Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia. She’s voiced by Saori Hayami (Yor in Spy x Family, Archer of Red in Fate/Apocrypha, Shinobu in Demon Slayer).

Ushiwakamaru’s battle preview trailer emphasizes her speed and swordsmanship. In her legend she learned swordplay from the Tengu of Kurama temple. Her Arc Drive refers to her Noble Phantasm, “The Wandering Tales of Shana-oh, Hoemaru, the Spider-Killer”.

Besides the character update, the Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC will add a free Boss Rush story written by Type-Moon co-founder Kinoko Nasu. Additional character colors, music, customization options, and language support for Spanish, French, and Brazilian Portuguese is also included.

Melty Blood Type Lumina is available on

the PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
