Megan Thee Stallion Says Tory Lanez Is the Person Who Shot Her

The alleged mistreatment didn’t end when she arrived at the hospital, she added, which only added to her understandable trauma. “ I get to the motherf/*cking hospital, the police bitch being so rude to me. ‘Well, what’s going on? Like, you’re being detained.’ Like ma’am, I’m being detained? I’m leaking,” she said of her gunshot wounds. After the police finally left, the doctors performed an x-ray and told Megan she had bullets in one foot, and bullet fragments in her other — but that she was still mistrustful of the people around her. “I’m thinking the doctors is the police so I’m still trying to tell them, I didn’t know I got shot,” she said. There’s a long history of racism in the healthcare industry, as well as a documented pattern of lower-quality healthcare being provided to Black Americans.

“I’m saying I’m scared,” Megan added. “Like I’ve never been shot before. I don’t have to lie about that. Why would I lie?”

According to earlier reports from Variety, Tory was arrested and charged with a felony count of carrying a concealed weapon. He was released after posting bond and is set to be in court on October 13. In the weeks since the shooting, Kehlani announced that she was removing Tory’s verse from her song, “Can I,” and unfollowed the rapper on Instagram, ostensibly in a sign of solidarity for Megan, whom she called “really my friend. This is someone that I say, ‘I love you’ to,” in a recent radio interview.

Though Kehlani did not mention the specifics of what she knew about the incident, she alluded to Tory’s culpability in the chat. “People were asking me, ‘are you gonna keep somebody on [your album] who doesn’t necessarily make us feel safe or empowered as a woman?’,” Kehlani said. “And not only that but, you know, this situation was involving someone that I’m extremely close to, so I just felt like on some loyal sh/*t, and on some do the right thing, you have to be responsible. Absolutely I’m changing up the record.”

JoJo has also decided to remove Tory from her upcoming deluxe album, showing solidarity with Megan on Twitter Thursday night. 

In her Instagram Live, Megan also addressed the trolls who have antagonized her for weeks, and attempted to gaslight her after she went through such trauma. “You want me to be a bad person so bad and y’all motherf/*ckers want to believe the lie before you believe the truth,” she said. “Stop trying to come on the internet and acting like a Black woman, a grown-ass Black woman, really got any reason to be lying on another grown-ass Black man when all the sh/*t fucked up going on in the world right now. If you really want to tell the mutherfucking truth, I tried to save [Tory]. Even though he shot me I tried to spare him. And y’all motherfuckers is not sparing me. That’s crazy. That’s f/*cked up.”
