Tory Lanez has used the alleged shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion to promote his new album, outraging fans.

Megan Thee Stallion says she was shot in both her feet by Lanez in July after an altercation at a party. At the time, Lanez was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

Now, Lanez has released a new album called Daystar—inspired by his real name, Daystar Peterson—in which he addresses the shooting incident. The album opens with a media montage discussing the shooting before Lanez says: “I’m done with this, you gotta know the truth.”

He announced the new album on Twitter by saying: “There is a time to stay silent. And a time to speak… I said all I could say on this…”

But Megan Thee Stallion fans are furious that Lanez has used the incident to promote his new 17-track album.

Singer Shamir said: “With all disrespect I wish Tory Lanez nothing but the worst in his life and future endeavors.”

Elgin Charles said: “So, instead of issuing a heartfelt, public apology to @theestallion, Tory Lanez ‘breaks his silence’ by using the horrific incident to promote his trash ass new album and to intimate that Megan is a liar.

“He is canceled and needs to catch the ultimate fade.”

Nicholas Liddle: “Tory Lanez is using Megan Thee Stallion’s trauma to promote an album. Is that not sickening to y’all? like, what the actual hell? The lowest is what, exactly?”

Tamara Dhia said: “The only thing more trash than shooting Megan Thee Stallion is using the situation to his benefit by promoting his new album. Tory needs to be in jail, not on the music charts.”

Many are also furious that Lanez released the album on the day after the court’s decision to not charge anyone with Breonna Taylor’s death.

One Twitter user said: “The day after we had to deal with another injustice of a Black Woman being shot and killed, Tory Lanez decides to profit off shooting Megan (Thee Stallion). The disregard for Black Women, specifically from Black Men, makes me sick to my stomach.

“This Troll decided to get in the studio with his legs swinging off a chair to make 17 songs before he gave a human apology. If you’re streaming that and enjoying it I wish you luck. I’ll be streaming SUGA”

“Tory Lanez got a special place in hell. You decide to drop an ALBUM about shooting a black woman… in this climate??? Right after the system fails Breonna Taylor????”

Despite Lanez’s album, Megan Thee Stallion is thriving. It was announced this week that the singer is included in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people and she is lined up to be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on October 3. Her song with Cardi B, “WAP,” is still number one in the Billboard charts.
