Remember the Megan Rapinoe triumph pose from the USWNT’s eventual march to a World Cup in 2019? Arms spread out to the world, taking it all in after scoring, a “TA-DA!” for the ages.
On Friday, with United States and the Netherlands tied 2-2 and in penalty kicks, Rapinoe stepped up to take a shot with her team up 3-2 in penalties. A goal clinched a trip to the Olympic semifinals against Canada.
She nailed it, and then Rapinoe turned around. This time? She crossed her arms and posed.
Yep. It was awesome, a great way to celebrate a huge moment especially with all the drama of a game in which offsides after offsides negated goal after goal.
