Disney+ will begin production for “Obi-Wan Kenobi” in April, and Star Wars announced the cast for the TV series on Monday. While we now have a solid list of 12 stars who are in the mix, we don’t actually know all of their roles.
But we do know this: the show will feature Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) roughly 10 years after the events in Revenge of the Sith, when Anakin Skywalker turns to the dark side of the force and becomes Darth Vader. Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin in the prequel series, will return as Vader.
He’s only one of many stars in this series. Here they are.
The Scottish actor played Obi-Wan in the first three Star Wars episodes. His breakout performance came in Trainspotting, and he most recently played the villain in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
Ingram, who graduated from Yale School of Drama in 2019, starred as Jolene in The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix.
When it comes to sci-fi, Edgerton was co-starred with Will Smith in Bright. Edgerton was also Falstaff in The King, starring Timothee Chalamet.
She played Beru Lars, a surrogate mother to Luke Skywalker, in the second and third episodes of Star Wars.
How could anyone forget her performance as Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones? She was also Niobe in Rome.
He had roles in The Death of Stalin (Vasily) and Pride and Prejudice (Mr. Wickham).
Jackson Jr. played his father Ice Cube in Straight Outta Compton. He was also in Ingrid Goes West (Dan Pinto) and Longshot (Lance).
Kang played Han in Fast & Furious 6 (2013) and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006).
Appearing largely in TV series, Kessell has had roles in Reckoning and The Crossing.
Sadfie, director of Good Time and Uncut Gems, will build out his acting resume.
Nanjiani is set to star in one of Marvel Studios’ upcoming movies, The Eternals. The standup comedian broke out in the TV series Silicon Valley, and was the leading role for The Big Sick.
He’s back. Though critics panned Christensen’s performance as Anakin in the prequel trilogy, he’ll return as Darth Vader with a shot at redemption.
