Maura Healey focuses on making Massachusetts more affordable in her first TV ad for governor
Governor General #GovernorGeneral
Attorney General Maura Healey is hitting the airwaves Tuesday with a new 30-second television advertisement where she promises to “cut taxes, reduce costs in housing and transportation, improve education, and make vocational training available” if elected governor this fall, her campaign said Monday.
“I grew up one of five kids raised by a single mom, a school nurse. It wasn’t always easy, but teamwork got us through,” Healey says as upbeat music plays in the background and childhood images flash across the screen. “I believe in teamwork. I’ve seen it on the court and in the court as your Attorney General.”
It’s Healey’s first television advertisement for a governor’s race, which features virtually no competition on the Democratic side and dueling Republican candidates Chris Doughty and Geoff Diehl. Healey has long been leading in the polls and campaign cash ahead of the Sept. 6 state primary and Nov. 8 general election.
