Matt Hancock’s Pint Appears To Be ‘S***est Guinness Ever’ In Viral Picture

Guinness #Guinness

A picture of Matt Hancock drinking a pint of the ‘s***est Guinness ever’ has gone viral on Twitter – but not everything is as it seems. A Twitter user later admitted the image was Photoshopped. Watch how:

The original photo was taken during a photo op in Middlesbrough, where Health Secretary Hancock was seen holding up a pint of bitter.

While on the campaign trail, Hancock was trying to pull off his best ‘man of the people’ impression, telling Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen: “I’ve come to Teesside because it gave me an excuse to have a pint.”

But when the image hit the internet, it was given the Twitter treatment, with some naive souls believing it was a very badly pulled pint of Guinness.

Twitter user Richard Smith posted the image, writing: “State of Matt Hancock’s Guinness ffs.”

The photo quickly went viral, with social media users resharing it, getting thousands of likes.

One person wrote: “That is probably the worst pint I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Another said: “As a bartender, I can confirm someone did this on purpose, even if you pour it straight down without effort it looks better than this.”

A third wrote: “This is exactly how I’d pour Matt Hancock a pint if I was the barmaid.”

His colleague Boris Johnson recently had his first post-lockdown pint in the Mount Tavern in Wolverhampton while on the campaign trail with Andy Street, the Conservative Mayor of the West Midlands who is up for re-election this month.

Johnson pulled himself a pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord pale ale, before sitting down and toasting ‘step two’, in reference to the second phase of his roadmap out of lockdown, before knocking back some of his beer.

Johnson had initially planned to go back to the pub on Monday 12 April, when restrictions were eased, however he pushed back the date following the death of Prince Philip, while all campaigning was called to a halt to observe a period of mourning.

Posting on Twitter he said: “Great to be back at the pub again, and to see so many reunited with friends and family.

“We’ve worked so hard to get to this point. Let’s keep going. Remember hands, face, space & fresh air.”
