Clemson enters the second weekend at home hosting the Clemson Invitational
The Tigers welcome Western Carolina, South Alabama and Green Bay
The Tigers are 2-1 after taking both matches during opening weekend action against Middle Tennessee and Wofford but recently dropped a midweek matchup against South Carolina in four sets
Leadership committees
Clemson has implemented different leadership committees – each member of the program (no matter the year), is a member of one or more leadership committee within the program which is meant to help hold everyone accountable and showcase that anyone, no matter the age/year, can be a leader
VB & Team Culture: Mckenna Slavik, Devan Taylor, Adria Powell, Sophie Catalano, Mia McGrath, Katie Culumovic
The Clemson volleyball team went on a 15-day foreign tour at the beginning of June traveling to Paris, Croatia and Bosnia
The team participated in training sessions and a two-day tournament in Bosnia – Clemson split into two different teams to allow for every player to get ample amounts of playing time and learn the systems
Clemson also did multiple off-court team building activities including: ATVing through the mountains of Bosnia, two different boat days, sightseeing and becoming immersed in different cultures
New Faces
The 2023 Clemson Tigers features 20 total players – 14 of which are freshmen and sophomores
11 players are new to the roster with seven freshmen and four transfers
Transfers Adria Powell, Katie Culumovic and Katie Hurta transferred to the program in January and spent the spring semester training with the Tigers. Kateryna Tkachenko joined the program to begin the 2023 fall semester
Jervey Upgrades
Following the 2023 home slate – which ends on Nov. 5 against Louisville – Clemson will begin renovations on Jervey Gym for the 2024 season
Renovations include raising the roof, as well as a new locker room, lounge and meeting areas for Clemson’s volleyball program, and major improvements to the gameday experience with new access, restrooms and concessions areas
The renovation phase of the project would re-allocate more than 14,000 square feet of space and also include building a new state-of-the-art performance and wellness center for all Clemson student-athletes
