MasterChef: The Professionals hopeful Santosh Shah lost out on the winner’s title in tonight’s finale – so viewers have given him title of ‘people’s champion’.

Santosh, who works at Cinnamon Kitchen in London, has become a firm favourite because of his family values, and cheery demeanour.

In the grand finale of the cooking programme, Santosh went up against rivals Alex and Bart – with 25-year-old Alex taking home the win.

For their last task, the trio were given three hours and 15 minutes to create their ultimate three-course menu for judges Gregg Wallace, Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti.

Creating a series of dishes inspired by his Nepalese roots, with the buffalo he used coming across a little tough, and while delicious, sometimes a little too strong.
