Mass Effect Legendary Edition brings all three of the first space opera games into one unified package. Today, we finally know when we’ll get our hands on it.
May 14th, the remastered trilogy is coming to PC on Origin and Steam, as well as PS4 and Xbox One, with forward-compatibility on Xbox Series X and PS5. At this time, there is no native next-gen version of the trilogy.
It should still look damn good, however, if this trailer is anything to go by:
Man that’s a good trailer. I’ve been wanting to play through these games again—after all, Mass Effect 3 is basically what put Forbes Games on the map, and propelled my career as a game critic thanks to our coverage of the Retake Mass Effect movement.
That feels like ages ago, probably because it was ages ago. Mass Effect 3 came out on March 6th, 2012—very nearly a decade ago. The original entry in the series released in 2007. My how time flies.
Here’s some highlights for the new release:
All told, it sounds fantastic. I know there were problems with how the third game ended. I know BioWare did eventually release an ending DLC that helped—but didn’t entirely fix—those issues. But hey, bygones and all that. I’m must excited to head out into space on the SSV Normandy with my trusty crew of alien misfits.
May 14th. Can’t wait.
