Martin Odegaard left absolutely amazed by £45m Arsenal player in training ahead of Brighton match today

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard now looks incredibly motivated to right the wrongs of last week when the side host Brighton Hove Albion today.

Despite a draw against PSV Eindhoven in midweek, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad will still be reeling from defeat against Aston Villa.

And judging by some training footage Arsenal released ahead of Brighton, Odegaard and his teammates seem determined to step things up.

Towards the end of the session Odegaard was sharing a shooting drill with Gabriel Jesus, and the duo looked incredibly sharp.

Moreover, Odegaard was absolutely delighted with how Jesus was finishing his chances – something fans will want to see today.

Brighton have proved something of a ‘bogey team’ for Arteta’s side of late, something that will need to change.

Perhaps Kai Havertz will hope to be the difference maker, a player expected to line up as the number eight today.

And although that role is now becoming a familiar one for him at the club, that hasn’t been the case for Germany.

That being said, Julian Nagelsmann has now made a significant decision for Havertz moving forwards with his national team.

Although Havertz is now settling in a deeper role in Arteta’s side, fans were often calling for him to start at striker his season.

Jesus was injured and Eddie Nketiah was proving inconsistent, but the Arsenal boss stuck to his guns, which now looks to be paying dividends.

Odegaard must be delighted by the prospect of playing alongside both an in-form Havertz and Jesus for Arsenal against Brighton today.

Arteta has managed to add a lot of firepower to his side this season with compromising the defensive stability of the team.

Of course, a lot of the credit for that has to go to Declan Rice.

The England midfielder is often doing the job of two players – something that could also be said of Thomas Partey in the past.

And it’ll certainly be interesting to see how Arsenal do adjust their starting eleven when Partey returns.

That being said, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if he did leave in January.
