Martial arts studio opens in Cumberland County

A martial arts studio has opened in Mechanicsburg.

Premier Martial Arts Mechanicsburg has opened at the Legacy Park development at 100 Legacy Park Drive, Suite 106.

Premier Martial Arts Mechanicsburg is owned and operated by Brian and Kourtney Joyce, and offers a wide variety of martial arts classes for all experience and age levels.

Adult classes provide assistance with self-defense skills and physical fitness. Classes incorporate Krav Maga, kickboxing, and karate.

Premier Martial Arts is also available for kids’ birthday parties.

“We are pleased to bring the Premier Martial Arts studio to Legacy Park,” Kourney Joyce of Premier Martial Arts Mechanicsburg, said in a news release. “It will be a wonderful compliment to the businesses and residences of this new development.”

The studio opened on Dec. 30 and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce in January.

Legacy Park is a 185-acre mixed-use development of single-family homes, townhomes, apartments, walking trails and open space, restaurants and shops, and offices. A community clubhouse is also planned.

More than 700 residential units are planned for the community, comprised of apartments, 301 single family homes, 166 townhomes, and a future 55+ community of 87 homes. The first phase of homes broke ground in 2019, with new phases having since opened and additional phases planned for the future.

A number of businesses have now opened at Legacy Park.

Wolf Brewing Company opened at Legacy Park in 2021. The Landmark Homes design gallery and sales center and Down to Earth Cafe opened last year. Luna Italian Cuisine opened in January. And Glitz Soap Co. opened last month.
