Martha and Olivia Vivien have an explosive blow up in the boardroom on Celebrity Apprentice

Martha #Martha

The third episode of Celebrity Apprentice has kicked off, and yet another explosive argument in the boardroom has occurred.

With huge egos on the show, it’s no surprise that when it comes down to the nitty gritty, they will defend themselves to the ends of the earth.

The task tonight was for each team to run a successful Yum Cha service, which included cooking dumplings and setting the price. The highest profit wins.

Lord Alan Sugar took a different approach by appointing the Project Managers himself.

For Team Momentum, Australian Ninja Warrior competitor Olivia Vivien was in charge. For team Fun-Raisers, it was Australian Idol singer Anthony Callea.

From the get-go Olivia was not confident being the leader, and the team suffered a huge setback when Shaynna Blaze forgot to purchase the dumpling wrappers.

Already behind, the team struggled to get their dumplings cooked and out to the paying customers.

However, while it was clear at the end of the challenge that their team made dumplings that were not only delicious but actually cooked, Team Momentum lost the challenge.

Olivia Vivien chose for Martha Kalifatidis and Shaynna Blaze to go into the board room with her at the end, only to butt heads with Martha in an explosive argument over who was meant to be doing what.

“Olivia, what’s Martha doing here?” asked Lord Alan Sugar.

“I don’t feel like she followed through with her role as head chef, food wasn’t being cooked in enough time. I did speak up and ask her to do some things and she didn’t listen to me.”

“I think that’s bullsh*t,” added Martha.

“All right, do you mind if I finish?” asked Oliva.

“I’m in here because it’s strategy,” Martha continued. “She doesn’t want to be in here against Dave [Genat] and she’s chosen me because she thinks I’m an easier target and that I’m weaker.”

“No, she was constantly fighting my strategy,” Olivia pushed.

“Did you have a strategy?” asked Lord Sugar.

“Yes we put in place our strategy, I was confident with the quality of our food and not inflating our prices.”

“Not only was I the head chef, I felt like I was the project manager,” Martha said. “Decisions were not being made. No solutions were being provided. I feel like I was the only one bringing solutions.”

“You failed on more than one account of your role, you were stuck making dumplings instead of utilising two other burners,” Olivia added, stating that Martha should have been steaming the dumplings instead of assembling them.

“You were project manager why didn’t you -” Martha added before she was interrupted with a now yelling Oliva.

“You were head chef and you were not even cooking!” Olivia screamed.

“I’m only one person, I can only do one task. There were four other people in the kitchen, I don’t understand why someone else didn’t take the liberty to cook the dumplings. I was the head chef, I was cooking …”

“You were NOT cooking, that’s my point!” Oliva yelled.

Interestingly, both Janine Allis and Lorna Jane interject to back Martha up.

“You were the leader, it was your job,” said Janine.

“I saw frustration from Martha, but she was asking you for help,” added Lorna Jane.

In the end, it was Olivia who was sent home.

“What is absolutely in my opinion it’s untenable that Olivia, you didn’t control these people. You weren’t a very good project manager. It is with regret Olivia, you’re fired.”

After leaving the show, Oliva was still upset with Martha.

“I feel a bit crushed. I feel like I give so much to every task, but when it was my turn to be Project Manager, I felt like I didn’t get 100% from Martha. I do believe that if Martha just stepped up to her role just a little bit, instead of focusing on what strategy, we would have crossed the line.”
