Maroon seeks out Kane to apologize for skate blade accident

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Pat Maroon and Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane shared a nice pregame moment before their game at Rogers Place on Thursday.

Back in November, Maroon had inadvertently skated over Kane’s wrist, cutting him and forcing him to miss two months.

On Thursday, Marron sought out Kane near center ice and chatted with him for a few seconds.

Maroon, who was mic’d up for the game, apologized and said he didn’t even know he caught Kane with his skate, his son told him later that night.

Kane accepted the apology and the pair skated back to their respective warmups.
