Mark Meadows: Leslie Stahl “Came Across More Like An Opinion Journalist Than A Real Reporter”

Mark Meadows #MarkMeadows

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows says he’s optimistic about a stimulus deal before the presidential election in an interview with FOX Business host Maria Bartiromo.

BARTIROMO:  Real quick before you go Chief Meadows, President Trump was tweeting about releasing his interview.  He walked out on an interview, Leslie Stahl, he says he’s going to release this interview ahead of “60 Minutes” airing it.  He says it’s going to expose how fake and biased this sit-down interview was. Chief Meadows, what can you tell us about that interview?  Leslie Stahl was at the White House and the president got up and left? MEADOWS:  Well, he didn’t walk out.  I mean, the characterization of that, he spent over 45 minutes with Leslie Stahl, I’ve looked at every single minute of the interview and then some.  We have tape of — of — of every single minute.  Listen, when you have a “60 Minutes” reporter, they should be a reporter, not an opinion journalist.  And — and she came across more like an opinion journalist than a real reporter.  Journalism should have standards and we — we need to get to the bottom of it.  So, I think the American people will be able to see it. BARTIROMO:  All right, so then the president will release that interview then before Sunday, when they show it on “60 Minutes?” MEADOWS:  Yes. There’s a high probability, but more to come.  BARTIROMO:  Chief Meadows, it’s good to see you this morning.  Thanks so much.  Answering the tough questions the American people want answered.  Thank you, Mark Meadows.  We’ll be right back. MEADOWS:  Thank you.
