Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is very clearly still not over Wednesday’s Mavs-Warriors game. Not even close.
The same man who blasted the city of San Francisco for its “pretentious as f—k” attitudes was spotted Friday during the Mavs’ home affair against the visiting Charlotte Hornets wearing a shirt fans repeatedly described as “embarrassing.”
ESPN reporter Tim MacMahon posted a photo of Cuban wearing a “QUESTION AUTHORITY” tee just two days after Cuban said he planned to file a formal protest with the NBA over the Mavs’ 127-125 loss, claiming the incredibly funny Mavs play that cost them a game against the Dubs was in fact the “worst officiating non call mistake possibly in the history of the NBA.” Cuban tweeted “the ref called Mavs ball” even though video clearly shows he didn’t.
No word yet on whether Cuban actually filed the formal protest though, which tracks since — per NBA rules — teams need to pay a $10,000 fee to file a protest. They do get that back if their protest is successful, but there hasn’t been a successful protest since 2008.
While Cuban, a man who is worth more than $5 billion, and his T-shirt were busy fighting back against The Man on Friday night, his Mavs were busy losing yet another game, falling to the lowly Hornets 117-109 at home. Winners of just three of their past 10 games, the loss pushed the Mavs out of a playoff spot at one point Friday night in the incredibly crowded bottom half of the NBA West standings.
