Marcia (McCarroll) Nelson, age 70, passed away August 9, 2023, in Tulsa, OK, from complications of heart surgery. Marcia was born on September 13,1952, in Tulsa, OK, and was raised her entire childhood in Sand Springs, OK. She was the daughter of Jackie Sternke and Jack McCarroll, both of whom preceded her in death. Siblings who preceded her in death were Doug McCarroll and David McCarroll.

Marcia graduated from Charles Page High School in 1970. She attended Oklahoma State University for one year. She then worked as an administrative assistant for several companies. In 1981, Marcia moved to San Diego, CA and lived there until 2011. While in San Diego, Marcia had a long career with Shea Homes.

Marcia is survived by her son, Alex Goodman of Sonoma County, CA. Her surviving siblings are Donald McCarroll of Tulsa, OK and Julie (and husband, Tim) Jones, of Norman, OK. Other surviving relatives are Arden Sternke (stepfather) of Sand Springs, OK, Dr. Melanie McCarroll of Tulsa, OK, Todd McCarroll of Farmers Branch, TX, Lorraine McCarroll (sister-in-law) of Rowlett, TX, Ryan Jones of Norman, OK and Caitlin Jones of Santa Fe, NM. She is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews; her dear friends, Ed Vestal, Janet Garrett and Connie Burcham. Marcia also leaves behind her beloved Cottongim family, who embraced her as their own and allowed her to be “Sha-Sha” to the grandchildren. Many people in both Oklahoma and California will miss her friendship.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 2 p.m., at the Cremation Society of Oklahoma, 2103 E. 3rd St., Suite 101, Tulsa, OK.
