The agent of Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer has stressed that the Austria international is loving life in the Premier League.

Sabitzer was not a regular starter with parent club Bayern Munich earlier this season and joined United on a six-month loan deal late in the January window, inking a contract which does not include an option to buy.

Injuries to Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek, coupled with a suspension for Casemiro at the time of his arrival, have seen Sabitzer thrown in at the deep end in Old Trafford and the 28-year-old has enjoyed a solid start to life in England.

While his long-term future may be up in the air, Sabitzer’s agent has insisted the midfielder is feeling like his best self in England.

“Marcel is a top player,” agent Roger Wittmann told Sport1. “It doesn’t surprise me at all that he’s performing so well so quickly.

“If you have as much experience as Marcel, whether in the Champions League or with his more than 60 international matches, it doesn’t take long to find your way around a club and a league like this.

“He loves this English hardness! It was clear from the start that the Premier League was a great fit for him. He’s an aggressive player. He does exactly what he can there. And that’s what’s needed there.”

Asked about a possible permanent move to Manchester, Wittmann refused to make any concrete statements but clearly left the door open to remaining with United.

“At Manchester United, we see the Marcel from Leipzig again,” the agent continued. “I’m very happy for him.

“We’ll see [about his future] when the time comes.”

Sabitzer himself has admitted he is enjoying playing for United, offering the same stance as his agent: “We will see what happens in the summer.”

As for Bayern, they are expected to add another Austrian RB Leipzig midfielder in the summer, Konrad Laimer, which could pave the way for a permanent departure for Sabitzer.
