Maple Leafs’ Nick Ritchie: Heading to Toronto
Ritchie #Ritchie
Ritchie signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Maple Leafs on Saturday.
After spending the previous seasons with the rival Bruins, Ritchie should help replace some of the puck retrieval skills Toronto lost when Zach Hyman walked in free agency. While Ritchie doesn’t possess Hyman’s scoring touch, the big-bodied winger is excellent at screening the goalie and could earn a prominent role on Toronto’s high-powered power play. Among Ritchie’s 15 goals in 56 games last season, five came with the extra man.
