Manu Feildel picks up some groceries after promoting his own food range at the supermarket

Manu #Manu

Celebrity chef Manu Feildel plugged his own sauce range before shopping for some supplies at a Coles Local at Sydney’s Birkenhead shopping centre on Thursday.

The My Kitchen Rules judge, 48, sported a navy ‘Sauce By Manu’ T-shirt while roaming the aisles of the supermarket following his in-store tasting event.

Manu looked to be browsing the health foods section before picking up a small bottle of mineral water.

He later went to the self-serve checkout to purchase his supplies.

Manu’s food range has grown popular in recent years, after he awkwardly discovered his gravy sachets were one of the few products Australians weren’t stockpiling during the covid pandemic back in 2020.

At the time, the celebrity chef tried to spruik his signature sauce when he noticed there were still plenty of packets of it in the rows of barren shelves at his local Woolworths.

Despite customers clearing out the fresh meat section, they didn’t appear to be interested in his gourmet sauce.

‘You know guys how much I love my sauce,’ Manu said in an Instagram video of his trip to the shops.

Panning over to the near empty shelves, he added: ‘So we can do a little bit of lamb. And lot of sauce. Yum!’

The My Kitchen Rules judge expressed his surprise in the caption, before urging fans to ‘be kind’.

‘Popping to the shops to grab some dinner after work is a little harder at the moment, empty shelves everywhere!’ he wrote.

‘Be kind to each other and only buy what you need (and I always need sauce) that way there will be enough for everyone when they need it,’ he added.

The products have since had a complete makeover with the sauces featuring a more colourful packaging after customers were struggling to find them on supermarket shelves.

‘Feels like another proud dad moment as I introduce you to our bolder range of @bymanuf sauces,’ he announced last month on his Instagram page.

‘We listened when you said they were hard to find on the shelf so have made the changes to a brighter more eye catching packaging! Hopefully more of you can easily find them now.’

‘It’s the same delicious sauce just a new pack,’ he added.

Manu’s signature sauces are available in Woolworths supermarkets and Coles Local stores.
