Manchester United sends Reguilon back to Tottenham in anticipation of Shaw and Malacia’s comeback

Manchester United has activated a contractual break clause, enabling the return of defender Sergio Reguilon to Tottenham.

Reguilon’s acquisition by United in August served as a strategic response to injuries sustained by left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

During his tenure with Manchester United, the 27-year-old contributed significantly, making 12 appearances, including a late substitute role at Nottingham Forest this past Saturday.

He featured as a starter in seven matches, with his most recent outing being in the 3-0 home defeat against Bournemouth on December 9.

In anticipation of the imminent return of Shaw and Malacia to active duty later this month, Manchester United has made the decision to allow Reguilon to resume his professional journey with Premier League counterparts Tottenham.
