Manchester United player ratings: Aaron Wan-Bissaka poor but Anthony Elanga good vs QPR
Elanga #Elanga
Tom Heaton
Nothing he could do with the goal, but will be disappointed with some wayward distribution early in the game. 6
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Given a tough time of things down the right-hand side, with QPR focusing most of their attacks down that flank. Anonymous as an attacking force. 4
Axel Tuanzebe
Outfoxed by Charlie Austin and Lyndon Dykes at various points in the afternoon. Looks in need of a loan move and regular football to rebuild confidence. 5
Teden Mengi
Lost Austin too easily for QPR’s goal. The kind of movement from an experienced striker he needs more exposure to. 5
Brandon Williams
Didn’t see much of him going forward but was more defensively sound than his colleagues. 6
Nemanja Matic
Was often left on his own in defensive midfield as United went to 4-3-3 but he was positionally secure. 6
Andreas Pereira
Combined well with Lingard when he managed to free the shackles but he’s lost at sea as a holding midfielder. 5
Jesse Lingard
Making himself hard to ignore at the moment. Took his goal well and linked midfield and attack with energy and drive. 7
Facundo Pellistri
Another bright cameo. Clever run in build-up to Lingard goal. Didn’t get much joy on the right but he was happy to drift infield. 7
Daniel James
Involved in the early goal but a poor afternoon after that. Decision making and final ball consistently below par. 5
Mason Greenwood
Dropped deep to try and see some of the ball, having been anonymous as a centre forward again. 5
Subs
Lee Grant
Not a great deal he could do with the second half barrage but not a great look to ship so many goals. 5
Will Fish
Little time to make an impact but more experience before his Stockport loan move. 6
Di’Shon Bernard
Came on with Fish for final 15 minutes. Made one messy foul on the left touchline. 6
Ethan Galbraith
Came on at right-back again. Solid enough in what isn’t his strongest position. 6
James Garner
Tried to get on the ball in the second half but United had lost their heads by the hour mark. 6
Dylan Levitt
Tried his luck from distance with one shot and gave United as much as Pereira had. 6
Hannibal Mejbri
Played in an attacking midfield role and pressed energetically, but it was a tough experience for the second half youngsters. 6
Juan Mata
Played on the right and found Elanga with one good ball, but little involvement aside from that. 6
Shola Shoretire
Came on at centre forward and picked out Elanga for United’s second goal. 6
Anthony Elanga
The major positive from United’s second half. Broke the offside trap with one positive run and took his goal very well. 7
Joe Hugill
Given a 15-minute cameo up front and missed one good chance. 6
