He has been an ever-present in Diego Simeone’s side since joining in a £20million deal from Tottenham in 2019.

Trippier, 30, is entering the final 12 months of his contact, though, with The Athletic claiming he is ‘minded to return to England this summer’.

The report adds Manchester United and Everton are interested in bringing Trippier back to the Premier League, while PSG, who are bossed by his former manager Mauricio Pochettino, are an option.

The Red Devils want to sign competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has started 33 of a possible 36 league matches this season.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has used Seamus Coleman, Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate as right-backs this term and looks set to bolster that position in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, PSG have been linked with Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin and Tottenham’s Serge Aurier with Pochettino also a big fan of Trippier.

The England international was hit with a worldwide 10-week ban from football by the FA last December for breaching betting rules.

However, since returning to action in March, Trippier has been an integral part of Atletico’s title charge.

Trippier is hoping to make Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020, but he faces tough competition from Reece James, Kyle Walker and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
