The next transfer window will be crucial for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign as Manchester United manager.
His recruitment policy so far has seen the reduction of age in his playing squad as more young talents such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James have moved to Old Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes in January stands as Solskjaer’s best signing to date and the manager will be looking to replicate the midfielder’s success in the upcoming transfer window.
Following the announcement that the transfer window will open immediately after the final Premier League game of the season, there has already been emphasis on who might be arriving in the red half of Manchester in the coming weeks and months.
Here are the latest United transfer rumours.
PSG make Rashford top transfer target 
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made United forward Marcus Rashford their top priority ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The French champions are believed to be interested in signing the 22-year-old from United, according to The Independent.
Thomas Tuchel has previously praised the talent of the United academy graduate as well as insisting that England don’t appreciate how good he is as a player.
However, any move for the forward in the upcoming transfer window will cost the Ligue 1 club an extraordinary amount of money for a number of reasons – not least because United boast a relatively strong position with Rashford having grown up as a passionate United fan.
Six players facing Old Trafford exit in transfer window 
United could look to offload as many as six first-team players in the coming weeks as they look to raise funds for new arrivals.
According to the Telegraph, Solskjaer’s squad could see the departures of Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard and Diogo Dalot if good offers come in.
With the likes of Jadon Sancho linked with a move to Old Trafford, United will look to move on some of their lesser-used squad players who boast relatively high wages in comparison to their on-field contributions.
Both Sanchez and Smalling have been on loan in Italy for parts of this season and receiving the right offers from Inter and Roma could see them leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis.
United ‘close’ to Thiago transfer deal 
United are reportedly ‘close’ to signing Spanish midfielder Thiago from Bayern Munich despite Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool having been heavily linked with a move.
Reports in Spain, cited in the Manchester Evening News, have tipped United to upset Liverpool’s chances of signing the 29-year-old this summer.
Thiago’s quality could be a welcome addition to Solskjaer’s midfield but it appears unclear whether or not his arrival would be a necessity, with Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Bruno Fernandes all thriving at Old Trafford.
Issues elsewhere may be viewed as more urgent in the next transfer window but Thiago’s availability might just be too tough to refuse for the Red Devils.
