Ten Hag believes Man Utd are on the up ahead of Everton trip

Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford was seen at an exclusive Manchester restaurant with ex-fiancee Lucia Loi, sparking speculation the pair are back together.

Rashford and Lucia reportedly split up in June, having got back together after first separating in 2021. The pair had been together since they were teenagers, but were said to have briefly split up following the pressures of lockdown life.

According to The Sun, Rashford booked out a small French wine bar in his home city to set up an intimate date in a space that can seat up to 18. The same paper reports that Lucia was not seen wearing her engagement ring when the pair were together.

Rashford was just 15 when he and Lucia first started dating. The pair, who are both now 26 years old, were together for the best part of a decade before their first split.

After getting back together, the pair were engaged in 2022. They were later snapped together in Qatar during the World Cup, where the Manchester United man played his part in England’s run to the quarter-finals.

The first split lasted just a few months, and – if the latest reports are true – they have been apart for an even shorter amount of time on this occasion. Commenting on the latest reports, a number of fans were hopeful the development in Rashford’s personal life would be followed by an uptick in his form on the pitch.

After enjoying his best ever season in front of goal last term, scoring 30 times in all competitions, Rashford has found things tougher this season. He has just one club goal this term, in United’s Premier League defeat at Arsenal, as well as one for England in a Euro 2024 qualifying victory over Italy.

The England star also picked up just the second red card of his senior career when United lost 4-3 to FC Copenhagen in the Champions League. He will miss his club’s next European game, away at Galatasaray, but has escaped further punishment.

“Not in a million years,” former United and England midfielder Owen Hargreaves said on TNT Sports when asked about the sending-off. “Marcus is just trying to put his foot in front of the ball, he’s not even looking at the defender. He’s just trying to put his leg up so the defender bumps into him. When you see a still, and this is the first thing the referee sees when he walks over, it looks horrendous.

“But in real time, he’s not trying to foul him. I know it looks poor, but it’s not malicious, it’s not serious foul play. It’s just a foul, it’s just clumsy. It’s not a red. They’ve got to stop re-reffing these games like that because it’s ruining it.”
