Man Utd ratings: Rashford back with a bang after tequila party shame but Casemiro not clinical enough against Wolves

MARCUS RASHFORD justified Erik ten Hag’s controversial decision to recall him – but it was 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo who stole the show with a stunning last-gasp winner.

Rashford shrugged off his tequila party shame with an early opener and a crucial role in Rasmus Hojlund doubling Manchester United’s lead – before an incredible final half-hour in the 4-3 Prem success at Wolves.

The Red Devils’ brilliance on the break before the interval turned to nerves once Pablo Sarabia tucked in a 70th-minute penalty for Wolves.

United sub Scott McTominay soon headed the visitors 3-1 up.

But Max Kilman stabbed a reply home from a late corner and Pedro Neto levelled five minutes into stoppage time.

However, Mainoo then strode through to lift United up to seventh with a cool clincher.

Meanwhile, it was an important night at the other end for Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, reunited in central defence in the Prem.

And Andre Onana’s performance in goal was also under the microscope.

Ten Hag also got the chance to see how Mainoo and Casemiro fared alongside each other in midfield.

Here’s how United’s players rated at Molineux.

Andre Onana – 6

A little chaotic at times, needed to use his head at one point to keep Wolves out after the break.

Diogo Dalot – 6

Dealt with the threat of Cunha well in the early stages and looked solid until the latter stages of the game.

Raphael Varane – 6

Definitely had to do more work in the second half as Wolves hit back, but could do nothing as a thriller unfolded.

Lisandro Martinez – 8

He will be remembered by United fans in this game for his goal-line clearance which proved crucial as Wolves began their second half comeback.

Luke Shaw – 7

Played his part in attack as well as defence, and set up the second goal when United were in complete control.

Sealed a thriller with an incredible stoppage-time winner. Fed in nicely as part of a fluid United attack, he continues to grow in stature.

Casemiro – 6

Can count himself unlucky to have given away a penalty with 22 minutes left, his contact with Pedro Neto was minimal. Could have been more decisive in front of goal.

Alejandro Garnacho – 8

Showed some frightening pace and skills, sometimes hurried his final ball though.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

Showed some great vision from set-pieces and produced the decisive corner for United’s third goal.

Marcus Rashford – 8

It didn’t take him long to put an end to any doubts over Ten Hag’s decision to play him from the start – 4mins 30secs, to be precise.

Rasmus Hojlund – 8

Set up the opening goal for Rashford and claimed the second despite a melee on the line, always looked alert.
