That proved a devastating combination for Erik ten Hag’s side – and could see Luke Shaw and Alex Telles dumped to the bench this season.
And supporters on social media were very excited by what they witnessed in the friendly.
One said: “Malacia showing his IQ and passing range in this half.
“Two excellent balls to Rashford, one over the top and both in the space behind. He looks like a real gem of a signing.”
Another wrote: “Tyrell Malacia is the perfect example of what a full-back is required to do in the modern game.
“We haven’t had a fullback as comfortable as this for a very long time, defensively and even more so offensively. Already looks like a smart buy.”
A third added: “Malacia on fire so far!”
And a final user simply commented: “Malacia is quality.”

Dutchman Malacia, a £13million arrival from Feyenoord, also produced a wondrous bending pass to set Anthony Martial in behind – although the Frenchman was tackled before he could find the net again.
Then Scott McTominay sparked a 20-man brawl with a foul on Atleti goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
A Portuguese No7 – Joao Felix rather than Cristiano Ronaldo – grabbed the only goal of the game with four minutes left and then Fred was sent off in injury time.
United take on Rayo Vallecano in a final pre-season friendly on Sunday before their Premier League season gets underway against Brighton on August 7.
Earlier in the summer, fans were loving the link-up play between Rashford on the left, Martial in the middle and Jadon Sancho on the right.
Rashford struggled for form and fitness last season, managing just five goals in 31 games.
