Lindelof saw his playing time reduced last season with the Swedish centre-back falling behind Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in the pecking order.

The 29-year-old has attracted interest from Ligue 1 side Rennes but fresh reports claim Lindelof is ‘not keen’ on the club as his next destination.

Lindelof’s contract expires next summer but United have the option to extend it for a further year.

He has made a total of 232 appearances for the Red Devils to date since he was signed from Benfica in 2017.

Erik ten Hag is thought to be a big fan of Lindelof and wants to keep him despite interest from multiple clubs.

Ten Hag turned to Lindelof following Martinez’s season-ending injury in April, playing the full 90 minutes in each of United’s last nine league games as well as the FA Cup semi-final and final clashes with Brighton and Manchester City.
