Man faces homicide charge after fatal West Nashville shooting

A man has been arrested and charged with homicide after a fatal West Nashville shooting last week, records show.

Lenoris Johnson, 31, was arrested Monday evening in connection with the fatal shooting of Quiondre Charles Benson, 23.

The shooting took place just after midnight on March 11 in the 4000 block of Alameda Street, police said. When officers arrived, they found Benson on the floor of the bedroom in an apartment, according to an arrest affidavit. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died.

Investigators believe Benson was at the apartment visiting a friend when Johnson forced his way into her apartment, hit her in the face and shot Benson. Video surveillance also helped police track down Johnson’s car, which was at the scene, records show. The eyewitness also helped identify the car.

Johnson is being held in Davidson County and is scheduled to appear before a judge Wednesday morning.
