Man City’s Erling Haaland showed insane strength after Ederson’s pass v Brighton

Ederson #Ederson

Erling Braut Haaland ended his short goal drought on Saturday afternoon.

After failing to score in Manchester City‘s crushing 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, the outrageously-talented striker bagged the team’s opener against Brighton & Hove Albion.

It was some goal from Pep Guardiola’s side as well, who’re just devastating at the Etihad Stadium.

Shortly after not being awarded a penalty for what appeared to be a clear foul on Haaland by Robert Sanchez, the champions well and truly clicked into gear.

Goalkeeper Ederson produced one of his trademark 60-yard pings up the pitch and Haaland then went into full bulldozer mode in order to latch onto the superb pass by his teammate.

Sanchez’s decision to come up field was a very poor one indeed and that left poor ol’ Adam Webster stranded in a 1v1 strength battle with City’s talisman.

Needless to say, Webster came off second best…

Yeah, trying to barge Haaland off the ball is like trying to break down a brick wall with your shoulder, it’s just not going to happen.

The guy is really is a freak of footballing nature and you dread to think how many goals he’s going to score in Premier League action this season.

Haaland actually made it 17 in the English top-flight for the season just before the half-time break against Brighton, the Norwegian converting from the penalty spot in typically emphatic fashion after a foul on Bernardo Silva.

The current record for goals scored in a 38-game Premier League season is 32, which was achieved by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah in the 2017/18 campaign.

At this point in time, it’s hard to envisage a world in which Haaland doesn’t surpass that total by a considerable distance.

Surely the only thing that can stop him doing it at a canter is injury, right?
