Man accused of killing father of 3 in ‘robbery gone wrong’ headed to trial

KALAMAZOO, MI — A Kalamazoo man is headed to trial for allegedly breaking into the home of Gerryon Kye Sr. in June 2021 and shooting and killing the 33-year-old man.
Following a preliminary hearing on Friday, March 15, Isaiah Jacole Willhite, 22, was bound over to Kalamazoo County Circuit Court on six felony charges by Kalamazoo County District Judge Tiffany Ankley.
