Major traffic delays after lorry crashes into bridge in Pontefract

Police said the A638 is currently closed in both directions – with traffic building due to the incident at the low bridge from New Road to Doncaster Road Estate, Ackworth.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Journey times are expected to be heavily delayed while the scene is cleared.
