Maison Des Champs Scales 50-Floor Oklahoma City Tower in Abortion Protest

A man climbed the tallest building in Oklahoma on Tuesday to protest abortion.

The man, identified as Maison Des Champs, was spotted climbing the Devon Tower in Oklahoma City, according to KFOR.

The outlet reported that Des Champs was streaming his climb up the 50-story tower on Instagram and that the purpose was to protest abortion. Des Champs reportedly did the climb without using any gear.

The Oklahoma City Police Department posted a number of messages on social media, including one in which it said it was aware of the man climbing the Devon Tower and advised the public to avoid the area downtown.

About a half-hour later, in a follow-up tweet, the police department mentioned that the “individual is in custody atop of building.”

KFOR reported that Des Champs, who refers to himself as a “pro-life Spiderman” has completed similar climbs in other cities, including San Francisco and New York.

Newsweek reached out to the Oklahoma City Police Department for comment.
