It will be a historic moment when the maiden Delhi-Deoghar IndiGo flight will touch down the newly built Deoghar Airport on July 30. The flight will have on board several top BJP leaders and members of Parliament, who are going to offer prayers at the famous Baba Dham temple in the holy town. BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy will be one of the pilots of this IndiGo plane. Three big Bhojpuri film superstars and parliamentarians Manoj Tiwari, Dinesh Lal Nirahua and Ravi Kishan will accompany other leaders onboard the IndiGo flight. They will be performing puja and darshan at the Baba Dham temple in Deogarh.
The temple, also called ‘Baidyanath Dham’ attracts thousands of pilgrims who come ahead of the ‘Shravani Mela’ which started on July 14.
The long wait of the people of Deoghar recently ended after the new and upgraded Deoghar International airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister on July 12.
With world-class infrastructure, Deoghar International airport will provide people direct connectivity to Baba Baidyanath Dham, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas — the most sacred abodes of Shiva. Moreover, Deoghar International Airport will be the 68th destination which will be connected to Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi under UDAN scheme. It will be the second international airport in Jharkhand after Ranchi.
The PM also laid foundation stones for various development initiatives and inaugurated projects with a total value of over Rs 16,800 crore. The prime minister was accorded a rousing welcome by many, including by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, on arrival to Jharkhand. The projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi included the 657-acre Deoghar airport – built at a cost of Rs 401 crore.
He flagged off a Kolkata-bound IndiGo flight from the Deoghar airport to mark the inauguration of Jharkhand’s second airport after Ranchi.
