A woman has claimed that she was uninvited from her friend’s wedding after refusing to pay out extortionate costs for a lavish hen do. Lauren – who boasts more than 17,000 followers on TikTok account @lobro15 – revealed she was demoted from maid of honour before she got savagely kicked out of the wedding altogether by her pal.
Taking to the popular video-streaming service, Lauren shared a video describing the peculiar ordeal, which has surpassed 4.3 million views since posting. In the popular clip, the TikToker warned viewers to never ‘cross a bride’ or else they’ll be paying the consequences.
Captioning her post, Lauren wrote: “Good Lord almighty, do not cross a bride (even in a kind, respectful manner within reason) or else.”
She said: “Being maid of honour and telling the bride you don’t know if you or others can spend $1,000 (£800) on her bachelorette party.”
Lauren then explained that she was ‘demoted to bridesmaid’ before being ‘uninvited’ from the wedding – where she was then blocked on ‘everything’.
After being prompted for an update from thousands of TikTok users, Lauren shared an additional video explaining the situation in full.
She said: “It started by her asking me to be maid of honour, I say yes, she then shares bachelorette location with me.
“I immediately look up flight and they’re like $400-$500. So, I downloaded the batch app and created an anonymous survey asking people what their budget was.
“And the lowest dollar number that I offered was 300-500 because I wanted to avoid disappointing her too much and I knew her expectations were where they were.
“So, everybody votes for 300-500 – I bring this information up to her that people only want to spend 300-500 for flights and stay.
“I tell her that it might be over budget where she wants to go. She then told me if people were her friends they’d want to spend this amount of money.
“I let that go, we argue, every time we talk we’re arguing so I pulled away, which she felt abandoned by her maid of honour and so I do feel terrible for this.”

Lauren explained that the sore topic sparked a series of arguments between herself and the bride-to-be.
While the maid of honour assured she didn’t want to disappoint her friend, the relationship remained sour.
She went on: “Long story short – we go to lunch and I tell her I’ll try to make it work and she asks me the next day to book the Airbnb on my credit card without having money from any of the other girls. She told me that it was my duty as maid of honour to do this.
“That happened, we have an argument, we didn’t speak for three weeks after this – she asked me to lunch for my birthday and she offered me an ‘out’ to not be her maid of honour anymore and just be in the wedding.”
She explained further: “I stepped down to bridesmaid, we don’t talk for three more walks because it was obviously awkward.
“Then I get a text saying that her therapist told her that I shouldn’t be in the wedding.”
Flocking to the comment section, TikTok users assured Lauren that the bride was expecting too much.
One person wrote: “Idc how good friends I am with you I’m not spending 1k to party and they shouldn’t expect that from their bridal party can’t change my mind.”
Meanwhile, someone else said: “I’m the bride, but I suggested pizza and pajamas! We’re doing a pizza night with all of the nostalgic junk foods, movie drinking games and jammies!”
