MAFS’ Sara Mesa is slammed as ‘cruel’ as she writes ‘Stay’ during explosive Commitment Ceremony with groom Tim Calwell

Married At First Sight Australia bride Sara Mesa has been slammed as ‘cruel’ for choosing to ‘Stay’ on the show despite her treatment of groom Tim Calwell.

The nutritionist, 29, was caught in a cheating scandal during last week’s couple’s retreat in Byron Bay when it was revealed she had dinner with her ex-boyfriend.

It came to a head during Sunday night’s explosive Commitment Ceremony when the Sydney native went into damage control and shut her groom down on the couch.

Fellow groom Jayden Eynaud spoke up and called out Sara for behaving untruthfully, accusing her of being much more dominant over Tim, 31, behind closed doors.

Sara shut down his comments and said she didn’t want input from other contestants while she worked on her relationship with Tim.

As a pause opened up in the conversation, Tim attempted to jump in and express how he was feeling, saying: ‘I feel like there’s still a lot to unpack.’

But Sara quickly spoke over him, saying: ‘Sorry, can I just finish what I was saying? I was just getting to a point and now I don’t know where I was at.’

The relationship experts were stunned by her blatant disregard for Tim’s feelings on their crumbling union, despite her going on to say she would make him a ‘priority’.

Contestant Stephen Stewart also stepped in to call out Sara’s hypocrisy, pointing out she has vowed to make Tim a ‘priority’ but continues to shut him down.

‘At this point, if you stay, it feels like you’re staying for yourself. If you respected and cared for him, you wouldn’t drag him along for the ride,’ bride Jade Pywell added.

Moments later, it came as a shock to all when Sara defiantly wrote ‘Stay’, trapping Tim into another week with her on the show despite his vote to ‘Leave’.

The other contestants waiting on the couch appeared dismayed at her choice to continue on the experiment, with bride Eden Harper (pictured) saying: ‘That’s cruel’

‘I frankly don’t care what everybody says. I know what I want to do. So, I’m staying,’ Sara said.
