“MAFS” 2024 Recap: We’re Still Sobbing Over Timothy’s Emotional Breakdown
Timothy #Timothy
Can you believe we’re almost at the end of the experiment, with the final vows not too far away? We’re so invested to see the couples decide if they’re going to stick it out beyond the “MAFS” experiment. But before we get all sentimental and reflective, let’s not forget that it’s time for our weekly dose of drama at the dinner party. Ah, yes, our favourite guilty pleasure that never disappoints.
Before we get into that, let’s rewind back to feedback week, shall we? Lucinda and Timothy weren’t about to let things slide when they caught wind of some gossip about their relationship. Oh no, they decided to take matters into their own hands in the most unconventional way possible — think an “anonymous letter” that had Jack and Tori seeing red.
Tonight, Tori and Jack are on a mission to uncover the mystery behind the letter. And just when you think things couldn’t get any tenser, Timothy breaks down in tears at the dinner table. Yep, you read that right. So, grab your popcorn, folks, because this “MAFS” recap is about to get wild.

The Anonymous Letter Saga Continues
As the group settles in for dinner, there’s an undeniable tension hanging in the air. Lucinda takes the plunge and admits to everyone that she and Timothy were the masterminds behind the anonymous letter sent to Tori and Jack. Tori doesn’t hold back — she expresses her anger about the letter, and says that their sex life is off-limits to anyone else.
“Jack and I share a very strong, sexual connection… But our sex life is absolutely no one’s business. I will not speak on it,” she asserts. “I don’t care how it looks, we know what it is and we are confident in that. I’m not an idiot… if I felt like Jack wasn’t into me, I wouldn’t be sitting here.”
But just when things seem to settle, Jade drops a truth bomb that flips the script entirely.
Nine
“I feel like Tori is in her little love bubble and isn’t seeing what everyone else is seeing, that she likes Jack a lot more than he likes her,” Jade says to the cameras.
In a surprising turn, Jade admits to the group that she had a revealing conversation with Jack. She says that during their chat, Jade asked Jack if he would have slept with Tori already if she were more his type. Jack’s response? “Yes, probably”.
Timothy can’t help but confront Tori about her feelings after hearing this bombshell, but Jack interjects, suggesting that Tori views Timothy as “a joke”. Despite the mounting tension, Tori quickly shuts down the conversation, urging the group to trust her and insisting that she’s “so fine”. But no one is buying that, right?
Timothy Hits Breaking Point
When they aren’t causing a stir in the experiment, Lucinda and Timothy are quite the power couple. At the dinner party, the group can’t help but notice that the couple are looking tighter than ever, and even arch-nemesis Tori notes that they “seem closer”. Lucinda gushes about her hubby, and tells the group she’s sensed a shift in Timothy. She’s even been receiving daily hugs, and she loves it.
In a rare moment of vulnerability, Timothy admits that something clicked for him during the retreat, thanks to Lucinda helping him let down his guard. Then, it gets even sweeter — when Lucinda gushes over Timothy, he leans in for a kiss right then and there.
But suddenly, the mood takes a sharp turn. Timothy excuses himself and heads off to another room, where he lets loose a few tears. Turns out, he’s been carrying around a heavy load of bitterness and isolation for way too long.
“I’ve Wasted All These Years” Nine
“I signed up for this hoping to find someone, to find love, and it hit me sitting there at the table that I’ve just been wasting time being angry and shut off,” Timothy confesses. “I might judge everyone else, but truth is, I’m probably the most broken one here… I’m 51 and I’ve never really let anyone in. Feels like I’ve wasted all these years.”
Lucinda finds Timothy in his moment of vulnerability, and offers him comfort. In turn, he opens up about his fears of letting someone in, saying that “it’s easy being hated, it’s hard being liked.”
“The thought of someone getting close scares the heck out of me, ‘cause I’m so used to flying solo. But being around Lucinda, I’m starting to see there might just be a better way to live,” he admits.
The episode ends with Lucinda embracing Timothy, and we can’t help but fall in love with this couple even more.
