MAFS 2023: Are Shannon and Caitlin still together?

The first commitment ceremony saw the experts deliver some hard truths for Shannon, telling him his actions were not ok. Whilst the pair chose to stay another week, it seems like Shannon just couldn’t get over his feelings for his ex (who he was intimate with up until the week he joined the experiment – eek).

Whilst things were initially getting back on track, Shannon’s real colours shone through during intimacy week when he felt the need to share with Caitlin how unattracted he was to her.

“That physical attraction – I don’t know if it’s there,” he explained bluntly. “I still want to try, but can you be in a relationship with someone that you have doubts that you’re attracted to? They’re really nice, they’re really lovely, but if you’re not physically attracted to them… I don’t know.”

“The attractions low,” he explained to Caitlin. “You are a good-looking girl – just not in my eyes.”

If you thought it couldn’t get worse, think again. Shannon then went on to blame the lack of physical chemistry for why he was *still* thinking about his ex.

“I thought you would come down that aisle and completely blow me away,” he told a (rightfully) shocked Caitlin, explaining that he wouldn’t even have contemplated thinking about his ex, had his bride been more suited to his tastes.

“You don’t need to love me, you don’t even need to like me. But you do need to respect me because I am a brilliant person, I’m amazing. It’s a privilege to be in this experiment with me,” Caitlin shot back, before leaving the apartment.

“I deserve better.”

By the second commitment ceremony, it was clear Caitlin and Shannon’s relationship was irreparable.

Well, to everyone except Shannon, it seems – who despite repeatedly degrading Caitlin, opted to stay another week in the experiment.

But after he was unable to explain to Caitlin and the judges how he was planning to fix the damage – the experts allowed Caitlin to exit the experiment.
