Singer Madonna made light of the recent criticism she received at the 2023 Grammy awards for her appearance.

On Monday, she took to Twitter to jokingly respond to those who criticized her facial features.

“Look how cute i am now that swelling from surgery has gone down. Lol,” she wrote in the caption of her selfie.

Following the Grammy awards, users on Twitter expressed their distaste for her new look.

“Madonna looks good for her age… if her age is 2,700 year old vampire who eats babies and small animals alive,” comedian Tim Young wrote.

One user responded, “She’s trying way to hard, I want old 80’s Madonna back.”

“Madonna before vs. after. Pumping her face full of botox Pumping her face full of fillers You might think you look great with these quick fixes… you look terrible,” another user replied in the caption of a photo showcasing Madonna’s transformation.

Earlier this month, the singer, 64, took to her Instagram page to accuse her critics of “ageism” and “misogyny” in the caption of a photo of her with singer Sam Smith.

“That permeates the world we live in. A world that refuses to celebrate women past the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong willed, hard-working and adventurous,” she wrote.

Continuing, she wrote, “I have never apologized for any of the creative choices I have made nor the way that I look or dress and I’m not going to start. I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come. In the words of Beyonce ‘You-won’t break my soul.’”
