Luton Town eye Max Johnston after Motherwell starlet scouting mission while Hibs prepare Steven Bradley exit
Luton #Luton
Luton Town ran the rule over Max Johnston again on Friday night.
The English Championship have been trailing the Motherwell defender for several months with the 18-year-old currently on-loan at Scottish Championship side Cove Rangers. The Hatters had Johnston watched, as he helped Cove to a win over Queen’s Park. He is out of contract at Fir Park at the end of the season.
Johnston has already made his first-team debut for the Steelmen and previously had a loan spell at Queen of the South. Luton previously signed midfielder Allan Campbell from Motherwell, although Johnston is seen more as a long-term prospect but there is potentially a transition of power on the way at the English Championship side. Manager Nathan Jones has been given permission to speak with Southampton over taking charge of the Premier League club following their decision to part ways with Ralph Hasenhuttl after almost four years.

Meanwhile, Hibs are prepared to let Steven Bradley leave in January, Record Sport understands. The talented winger is set to return to Easter Road after a successful loan with Irish side Dundalk.
Hibs boss Lee Johnson is looking to add to his squad in January but also needs to balance the books by moving some of his fringe players on.
Bradley has done well at Dundalk, where he helped them to qualify for Europe, but Johnson has a number of different wide areas options ahead of him. The 20-year-old is out of contract in the summer and Hibs won’t stand in his way if he can get a deal in the next window.
Hibs signed Bradley from Queen’s Park back in 2019. He made a handful of appearances at Easter Road and also had a loan at Ayr United last season.
